START
Once upon a time there lived a very proud Lion.
He was very large,very beautiful and very strong.
All the other animal in the jungle were very frightened of him.
He frightened the giraffes.

And he especially frightened the little animals,like mice!

The lion was very pleased that he frightened all the other animals.
One day,a little mouse was going for a walk.

The pitter patter of the little mouse’s little feet woke up the lion…
He seized the little mouse in his paw…
…and was about to swallow her whole when..

“You never know – If you let me free,I might be able to save your life one day.”
“You shouldn’t judge your friends by their size.”

“For making me laugh so much,”he chuckled,”I’ll let you go!”
The lion did not believe that such a little animal could ever save his life.
While he was still laughing,the little mouse slipped away silently.
The next day the proud lion was going for a walk in the jungle.
All of a sudden,a group of men charged out of the bushes.

The men threw a large net over the lion and carried him away towards the king’s palcae.
Poor lion!
He didn’t want go to the palace.
He wanted to stay in the jungle with his friends.
Just then the lion heard a quiet whisper.

“Remember me?”,said the whisper.
It was the little mouse!
“Remember that you said I was too little to help you?”
“Do you still think that?”
Indeed,the lion did think that the little mouse was too little to help him,
but he was too sad to laugh and palced his weary head on his large paws.
When the lion looked up,guess what he saw.

The little mouse had gnawed a large hole through the net…
…and no one had even noticed that the mouse was there.
“Hoorah!”roared the lion.

The lion bounded out of the hole and roared loudly.
The men who had caught him were very frightened and ran away!
“Thanks,little mouse”,said the lion.
“You were right,you did save my life.”
“From now on I shall never think that little friends cannot be good friends.”
Now,whenever the lion walked through the jungle…
…he never frightened the giraffes.

狮子不相信如此小的一只动物能救他的命。
第二天骄傲的狮子在丛林中行走。
忽然，一队人从灌木丛中冲出来。

这些人投向狮子一张巨大的网，把他抓走朝着国王的宫殿走去。
可怜的狮子！
他不想到宫殿去。
他想呆在丛林中和他的朋友一起。

“记的我么？”，耳语者说。
是那只小老鼠！
“记得你说过我太小而不能帮助你么？”
“你仍然那么想么？”
实际上，狮子确实认为这只小老鼠太小而不能帮助他，
但是他太伤心了所以笑不起来，把他的疲倦的脑袋放在他的巨大的爪子上。
当狮子向上看的时候，猜猜他看到了什么。

这只小老鼠已经在网上咬了一个巨大的洞......
......甚至没有人注意到这只老鼠在那里。
“万岁！”狮子咆哮到。
点狮子看看他下一步做什么。
狮子跃出这个洞，并且大声地咆哮。
这些抓他的人非常害怕，于是逃跑了！
“谢谢，小老鼠”，狮子说。
“你是对地，你救了我的命。”
“从现在开始我决不会认为小朋友不能成为好朋友了。”
现在，无论何时狮子走过丛林......
他不再惊吓长颈鹿

他不再惊吓猴子们。

而且他当然不再惊吓小动物，象老鼠！
